Cllr Shelly Darwin

 

Councillor Shelly Darwin represents St. John’s Ward on Ipswich Borough Council. She has been a Councillor since 2015, increasing her majority in her second term.

She Chairs a Council Area Committee and is Vice-Chair of its Licensing Committee

Shelly is driven by her values and a strong determination to make things better; to bring improvements to resident’s lives and to Ipswich and to act as a link between communities and the council.

She stands for real social change; lessening the disadvantages of inequality and poverty in our society. Representation matters; Shelly is a champion for equal opportunities and equality and continues to challenge and raise awareness in all that she does.

She is a graduate of the Labour Party’s Bernie Grant Programme and sits on the Party’s National Policy Forum’s commission on Work, Pensions & Equalities. Shelly works as a Social Prescriber in the NHS.
